LARRY IS OFFICIALLY "AMONG FRIENDS" WITH LAUAN RECORDS
Austin, TX "Junk Rockers'" label debut due Oct. 30

BOULDER, CO (July 17, 2001) -- Lauan Records (LEW-On), "The Jamband Label,"
is proud to announce the signing of rising Austin, Texas "junk rockers" LARRY.

For half a decade, a surging nationwide fan base has known that "anything can
happen at a LARRY show -- and usually does." More recently, Texas Beat voted
LARRY one of Austin's top live bands. So it made perfect sense for Lauan to
go live for LARRY's label debut and capture the spontaneous six-piece,
featuring "brothers of another mother" Tom and Andy Vickers, in its truest
element. The result is AMONG FRIENDS, a live CD recorded in the spring of
2001 at the world-famous Antone's in Austin and the legendary Fox Theater in
Boulder.

Set for an Oct. 30 release, AMONG FRIENDS highlights the spontaneity of
LARRY's live shows, and their adept blend of humor and musical prowess while
marrying strong songwriting skills and an incredible gift of jam. LARRY can
just as easily jolt you into a deep funky groove, or hold you still and pull
at your soul with its self-styled "junk rock" mix of Texas-seasoned jazz,
funk, blues, Latin, Tex-Mex and Cajun, all flowing from a country rhythm.
LARRY's stirring tempo shifts and time changes often prompt its irreverent
sense of humor to surface, particularly in rousing renditions of TV and movie
theme songs, from "Star Wars" to "The Flintstones" to "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Lauan Records offered a taste of LARRY's live show last year, with the summer
release of Three Sets: Volume 2. LARRY was the first artist featured on the
compilation with future Lauan labelmates Wise Monkey Orchestra (San Diego)
and Ancient Harmony (Atlanta). The title of AMONG FRIENDS acknowledges the
relationship of love, music and friendship LARRY has built with its loyal
following over numerous tours of the South and West and a pair of previously
acclaimed CDs.

"We're excited that Lauan is giving us the opportunity to show people what
we're really all about, which is the live experience," says guitarist Tom
Vickers. "We can't wait to bring the LARRY show to the living room."

Somewhere between the Grateful Dead and Ozzy Osborne, a little band squirms
to find its own corner of the mud hole. If you like to play in the mud, then

Lauan Records is dedicated to building a community for the burgeoning jamband
scene. Founded to chronicle the creative efforts of jambands across the
United States, Lauan Records is not just another record label. It is for and
by fans, providing them with a network to discover new bands and new shows,
unifying what has traditionally been an extremely regional scene. Many have
described Lauan not as a record label, but more as an artist community.
