Ancient Harmony to Record Live Album
May 25, 2000
Ancient Harmony has been hard at work in the studio in recent weeks.
However the band, known for their charged live performances, is considering a live record for their next release. "We’ve been in and out of the studio recording some songs, but we’ve left that project to pursue this one," says Ancient Harmony keyboardist and vocalist Hal Month. "We are also working on developing new material for our live act."
The band is currently talking with the famed Oade Brothers about
multi-tracking some performances near Tallahassee, Florida. They are
shooting for a double live album, which would include plenty of brand new
material. The Oade Brothers recently recorded Widespread Panic’s
shows at The Classic Center in Athens, GA for an upcoming live release.
Ancient Harmony will also be part of a seventy-plus minute live CD called
Three Sets Volume 2. The CD is due for release on Lauan Records in the coming weeks, and it will also feature performances from Wise Monkey Orchestra and Larry. Ancient Harmony’s contribution will be a twenty-plus minute version of fan favorite “Memory.”
The band plays Sunday at Tobacco Road in Miami, FL. For more information, visit http://www.ancientharmony.com.
